DISPATCHES FROM THE UNCANNY VALLEY - 2.8.12

Basically, I spend all of my time either online, absorbing culture, or absorbing culture IRL via going to shows or hanging out doing other interesting things. I love sharing that culture with people (which is pretty convenient, as that’s the mission statement of the place I work). So I made my first video podcast. This is, I think, a cool way for me to do that. 

The Basics:

  • 10ish minutes
  • First half will be about cool/interesting/irritating/life-changing cultural things I’m thinking about right now. Or maybe just something funny or weird that happened to me. Whatever I feel like, hopefully it’ll be worthwhile.
  • There will be a prop.
  • Second half will be things I’m involved in or recommend doing over the next few days here in New York. This is saved for the end to spare anyone who doesn’t care about what’s going on here, but even if you don’t live here you might wanna hear this part, as I’ll be talking about artists that are probably coming to your city too.
  • Frequency: Once or twice a week is likely. 
  • I need to find synonyms for “awesome.” 

So there you have it. This is my experiment. Underneath I’m gonna link to everything I talk about in each episode. Right now I’m gonna give huge props to Leah Taylor and the Weekly Dose, which I kinda rip off in the second half of this. I HOPE YOU GUYS ENJOY!
