Electronic Musicians Shouldn't Feel Bad About "Hitting Play" →

perpetua:

I wrote a thing jumping off a really smart post by Elite Gymnastics from last week in which they argue that it’s stupid for electronic artists to play by the rules of “live music” and pretend to be something they’re not on stage. I agree with their take on this, and would like to see things progress in a way that electronic acts - and live bands that incorporate a lot of electronic elements - can embrace their strengths and focus on their own vernacular without having to worry about seeming inauthentic or boring in a live context.

The Elite Gymnastics essay is great.
